Ocean Park Attractions at waterfront

Hi Travel Buddies,

If you can recall, we wrote about the Ocean Park attractions at the summit last month.

We took the Ocean Express Train from the summit to the waterfront after lunch.

Our first stop was Giant Panda Habitat, it was napping time for the panda, so we saw the sleepy panda :P.

We went on to the Goldfish Treasures, Panda Village and finally, Gator Marsh where you get to see the endangered chinese aligator.

The next big highlight of the day was the visit to Aqua City, a brand new attraction which was newly opened in January 2011, brings the world-class Grand Aquarium featuring 5,000 fish from 400 species and Symbio, the world’s first 360-degree water screen show.  The exterior of the Grand Aquarium is grand enough to make a statement.  The futuristic egg-shaped structure is made up of 244 trapezoid glass panels and ranks the world’s 9th largest aquarium.

We were very impressed by the jaw-dropping scene created by beautiful sights of scalloped hammered sharks, cownose rays, eagle rays and many other species swimming over our heads in the massive aquarium surrounded around us.

There is a Neptune Restaurant located within the Grand Aquarium.  If you feel weird tucking in fish and chips in an aquarium, you can order western food 😛

We ended our day at the Bird show at Emperors of the Sky.  It was an entertaining bird show that you learned about the different bird species.
