Bali Odyssey Submarine Review

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Hi Travel Buddies,

Finally, we are back from Bali.  Bali is really awesome and we sure had lots of fun and more to share with you about our trip.

On our last day of Bali, we embarked on the Bali Odyssey Submarine voyage.  It was a good decision to do it on the last day as our flight home was 8pm and we had our airport transfers arranged with them two days ago.   We had originally planned to do some last minute shopping on the last day but we decided to try something different and yet we do not have to worry about leaving our luggage with the hotel concierge as the hotel check out time was supposed to be at noon and we will have a few idle hours before our night flight.

The driver picked us up at the hotel lobby at 9.30am.  Oh, we were lucky as the car was a brand new Toyota Avanza, a mini MPV, only 6 months old.  It took us 3 hours to arrive at Amuk Bay from Kuta, an hour late because of traffic jam caused by some temple ceremony procession, according to the driver.

Bali Odyssey Submarine is an Odyssey II submarine, one of the two Odyssey Submarines in the world which can dive in 70ft deep under the sea.  Odyssey I resides in Hawaii.  Odyssey was constructed using the latest advanced technology in Canada, this battery powered submarine can accomodate 36 passengers and 2 pilots.

Amuk bay (close to Padang bay) is the place for departure, we were asked to take our weights, removed our shoes, put on a life jacket, walked barefoot on the beach and hopped on a small boat to finally transferred to the submarine.

Hi Travel Buddies,

In case if you are missing our posts and wondering what happen?  Here’s the latest update, we are having our vacation at the gili islands!

Also well known as “The Gilis”, the word gili actually means “small island”.  The 3 tiny miniscule coral islands are lying off the north-west coast of Lombok, Indonesia.  Surrounded by clear turquoise sea, fringed with white sands and swaying palm trees, the Gilis offer great diving, snorkelling opportunites for the adventurous or laid back charm for those who want a totally relaxed vacation.

Today will be our third night stay at Gili Trawangan, the largest and also the most comopolitan island of the three.  We do not have any fixed program for the day, we decided to rise early at five this morning to catch the sunrise.

Thanks to the good location of our accomodation, Tir Na Nog, at the east coast.  We just have to walk out to the beach, find a good spot, set up our camera and video and wait for the perfect moment.

Hi Travel Buddies,

As you know, we are going Bali next month for 10 days.  When we shared this with our friends around us, 9 out of 10 of them will ask with a surprise tone, “10 days so long?  Are you sure you are going to stay in Bali for 10 days?  What can you do in Bali?”  So what are the attractions and things to do in Bali?

We also had the same impression initially when we plan for this trip because of most of our friends who have been to Bali normally went for at most a 5-day trip.  Nevertheless, we went ahead to book our air tickets for a 10-day trip as we have been looking forward to take a longer holiday break from work this year.  However, the more we read about Bali and by now, we thought 10 days is a little too short for us! 😛

Before we can share more about Bali which we guess can only do so after we return next month, we decided to give you some ideas of what you can do in Bali so that you can plan your holiday trips during this period and hopefully you can book your vacation in time to take advantage of the many travel promotions coming up from now till NATAS Fair this weekend.

Firstly, we wanted to find out how big is Bali.  Bali is at least 3 times bigger than Singapore.  Bali can be divided into:
