A Starry Night Out at Avenue of Stars – Hong Kong

By

Hi Travel Buddies,

We spent a starry starry night out at the Avenue of Stars, located along the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui promenade.  If you are a fan of Hong Kong movies stars, this is the place that you cannot miss, the Asia’s version of the Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

You will find your favourite movie stars’ hand and footprints permanently etched in concrete along the pavement of the Avenue of the Stars, together with the statue of Bruce Lee, the greatest icon of martial arts films in Hong Kong.

We saw the unique Aqua Luna Chinese Junk floated passed us.  For a price of  HK$220, this is another way to enjoy the beautiful sunset with one complimentary drink  and view the Symphony of Lights – the largest permanent light and sound show by Guinness World Records to showcase more than 40 buildings on both sides of Victoria Harbour.  Show starts at 8pm every night.

For us, we decided to save some money and just wait along the Avenue of Stars, also a great vantage point to watch the Symphony of Lights.  We got ourselves a cuppa of hot drink, sat by a table along the waterfront and enjoy the night breeze, albeit a bit cold as it was still winter.

The  laser sound and light show started sharply at 8pm.  Music played over loudspeakers, the colourful lights display and laser beams immediately transformed the city’s skyscrapers into an array of dancing lights and rainbow colour.  It was a spectacular scene!
